“Singer-songwriter and piano teacher”. These words are bursting with more meaning than you would ever know. For some, it may be insignificant, simply a reference to a career. For me, it symbolises a major breakthrough and a homecoming.

Let me explain. My career path took me on a journey of statistics, teaching mathematics and science, and later in programming. I spent only one or two years on each of those careers but several in studies and training, and I was very frustrated. I secretly desired to be busy with music, but I pushed that deep down into a bin, and covered it with pretence. But God...

He took me on a journey to wholeness and abundance. Here the desire to be busy with music broke out of its tight space and started to shout. I had to take note. It was a slow journey - recovering from the avoidance addiction. What was I avoiding? Being me! I didn't believe that I had anything to offer, musically or otherwise, and was miserable to not be busy with music. A deep longing, to give expression to what I was carrying on the inside, was growing!

So, I found my voice in music. I have started to share songs with small groups of people in my home over the last few years but moving to the UK and the COVID situation have slowed me down. However, I have come to realise that I am the gift to minister to others, not only my music. It is my life that I need to share, and it entails more than just giving my testimony, but also to demonstrate hospitality and discipleship. God moved me from a woman scared of being herself to a woman willing to share her life publicly to inspire, uplift, encourage and lead.

I played piano since a young age, and always turned down the idea of teaching it. I simply didn't have the confidence to do so. However, in the UK, I jumped into the deep end when people asked me to teach very hesitantly at first. This became my main source of income to prepare for ministry.

I love teaching adults, and see this as a golden opportunity for spontaneous discipleship. I also lead a small group of women, mentoring them to develop a love for the Word, teaching them to recognise God's voice, and demonstrating abiding in Christ. It is my journey with them that has inspired me to create a few teachings.
